Matt Anderson

Matt Anderson’s entry into cybersecurity began on an Internal IT team at a local business, where he progressed from the Help Desk to System Administrator.

As Matt learned more about cybersecurity, his interest in security investigations and managing security tools grew into a passion. Seeking to work directly with experts and make a significant impact on the community, Matt found the perfect opportunity at Huntress.

“I love working with so many experienced and intelligent people in the field, all working toward the same goal of educating and protecting SMBs,” Matt says. “I also love getting to learn new things and face new challenges every day in a field that I enjoy that can have a major impact on so many people.”

Before joining Huntress, Matt worked in IT for a company in the manufacturing industry, gaining valuable experience that now informs his work in cybersecurity.

Specializing in Detection Engineering at Huntress, Matt holds several certifications, including CySA+, eJPT, and BLT2. In fact, he was the first person to obtain the BTL2 certification from Security Blue Team.

What's your favorite cybersecurity tip, Matt?

“You can't eliminate all risk. Know which risks are the most relevant and important to you and be wise in minimizing them.”

Outside of work, Matt enjoys river fishing for smallmouth bass, particularly in the summer. He is also passionate about sports, weightlifting, cooking, and grilling, and he serves on the music and tech teams at his church. Above all, Matt values spending time with his family.
