Ryan’s journey into cybersecurity began when he witnessed the "magic" of WEP cracking—a spark that ignited a career spanning over 15 years across Australia, the UK, and some of the world’s leading security firms. Now a Principal SOC Analyst at Huntress, Ryan specializes in macOS security, bringing a deep researcher’s mindset to the team. His expertise is backed by an elite collection of certifications, including GIME, OSMR, and CISSP, as well as multiple Apple Security Bounty CVEs.
Before joining Huntress, Ryan spent five years as a Detection & Response Principal at CrowdStrike and a decade securing one of Australia’s largest financial institutions. He thrives on the autonomy to "chase the bouncing ball" and uncover emerging threats. Ryan’s favorite cybersecurity tip: “You probably shouldn’t copy that text from your browser and paste it into Terminal.”
Outside the SOC, Ryan is a recreational ice hockey player and a die-hard Formula 1 fan—keep an eye out, and you might even spot him in an episode of Drive to Survive.
