Mark O'Halloran is a Security Operations Analyst at Huntress with a passion for stopping threats before they stop businesses. After discovering cybersecurity during his Computer Science studies at University College Dublin, Mark launched his career in product support at IBM QRadar before stepping into detection and response at Rapid7. He holds GREM, GCFA, and GCFR certifications and has taken his expertise to the stage, hosting an AWS Incident Response workshop at BSides Belfast.
At Huntress, Mark specializes in hands-on keyboard intrusion investigations — the kind of work that keeps ransomware from ending companies for good. Outside the SOC, he can be found running, lifting weights, or feeding walnuts to his loyal squirrel visitor. His top cybersecurity tip? “Put MFA on your VPN.”
