Zach has been hooked on cybersecurity since childhood, teaching himself programming long before earning his B.S. in Computer Science with a Cyber Security Specialization and his GCFA certification, at Oregon State University, where he also helped the school claim multiple Cyber Defense competition wins. A DFIR specialist, Zach previously led incident response at Nike before joining Huntress's Tactical Response team. He's a frequent conference speaker on deploying open-source network security monitoring with tools like Zeek and ELK.
What he loves most about working at Huntress? Giving back to the community and taking the fight to hackers alongside some of the industry's best. His favorite cybersecurity tip: "Logs don't lie." Off the clock, Zach hacks on software-defined radios and mesh networking, hikes the Pacific Northwest, and is locally famous on his team for daily homemade bagel photos.
