Uttie Gumbula, Staff Software Engineer, brings a remarkably diverse background to the Huntress team. His journey into cybersecurity began with a captivating talk on Stuxnet dissection, which sparked his passion for the intersection of engineering and security. Holding dual bachelor's degrees in computer and electrical engineering, Uttie has worked across FreeBSD kernel development for enterprise NAS storage, healthcare research using embedded systems to analyze surface electromyography, and hands-on OS education through CTF coursework.
At Huntress, he leads Linux EDR development. His cybersecurity tip to live by: "If you can understand it, you can secure it; if you don't, protect yourself, and never give out real answers to security questions." Outside of work, Uttie enjoys traveling, teaching, playing music, and cooking.
